Quiz Night - 20th April

posted 7 Apr 2013, 13:03 by Neil Batchelor

For those of you that know us, we have been best friends for years. Our trips have certainly been memorable (& if you haven't been a part of it - you must have heard the stories!) But now we're planning on doing a trip like we've never done before - all the way to China and when we get there, we are going to join a challenging trek for 6 days to walk the Great Wall of China. Most of the days we are walking, we'll be having to walk for 5-7 hours each day!

The reason why we're doing this is because on 23rd December 2012, Amie's Dad Bill sadly lost his fight with cancer. He spent his last few weeks at the Myton Hospice. They made him so comfortable and did everything they could to help both him & Amie's family.

This is our way of saying thank you to the Myton Hospice. We hope that the money we raise will help other people in the same situation and to spend their last few days in peace.

Each year The Myton Hospices care for over 2000 local people and their families at their hospices in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry. They give support and reassurance, relieve symptoms and control pain. They rely on the support of the local community and need to raise £7.2million this year.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The big event is finally upon us!

We plan to raise as much money to go towards our China Trek fund where we are raising funds for the Myton Hospice.

We will be doing a quiz & raffling off a lot of the amazing prizes that have been donated to us by local companies.
